  RIPS works to eradicate corruption in the DOF. It may initiate investigation or act upon complaints filed by any citizen.

After investigation, RIPS draws up and files the necessary complaints with the proper government agencies, such as the Office of the Ombudsman.
   
  How RIPS treats information it receives?
 
 
  What will RIPS do with the information it receives?
 

All information is analyzed to help RIPS understand the nature and scope of actual and potential corruption within the revenue and other agencies of the DOF.

Information from citizens and complainants may assist with other matters of current or future interest to the RIPS and may lead to an investigation.

RIPS considers whether information about possible corrupt conduct relates to the public official functions performed by the agency concerned, or whether it indicates a weakness in the way a government agency works.

  Will informants be involved if an investigation is conducted?
 

RIPS endeavors to investigate all complaints of graft and corruption that it receives. As a practical matter, however, not all information that it receives may result in the filing of graft charges against the subject of the investigation.

Nonetheless, all the information that RIPS receives is maintained in a database and may be cross-referenced with on-going or future investigations.

  Will I find out what happens to the information I provide?
 

RIPS will chart the progress of all cases that are investigated and acted upon by the agency in this website.

RIPS will confirm the receipt of information automatically but issue further correspondence as the need arises.
  Does RIPS need to know the informant's identity?
 
No. RIPS may initiate an investigation on the basis of an anonymous complaint, although in some cases, the identificaiton of the complainant may facilitate investigation.

All disclosures of identity are treated with the utmost confidentiality.
